Leaving El Triunfo we toured through the historic mining town. Visited the smoke stacks, church, and piano museum. It’s a very cool hamlet in the mountains. The traditional Cape Loop path has you going back the way you came and heading North toward La Paz. We liked the idea of heading West along the 150+ year old cobbled road the miners built. Then dropping to the shore and riding singletrack right to La Ventana. Clouds coverage of the sky gave us a welcome brake from the hot sun. And a constant breeze helped too. …have to take a brake from writing. Niki just spotted dolphins 🐬 from our bungalow. Very cool a pod of a couple dozen dolphins are cruising around the bay…. Any hoo, I’ll break up the galleries of our ride with town shots. Old road shots. And singletrack shots. The single gallery with multiple shots takes too long to load. And finish it up with our last nights dinner. Enjoy! First pics are from the restaurant across from Jimmy’s Place. Great breakfast! The next few are of Jimmy’s camping area. If you come for vanlife or tent life he has spots and an outdoor kitchen and bathroom. Plus you get access to gym, swimming pool and salon. Oh, don’t forget the wine bar. Next are pics through town and the old smoke stacks. The small town of San Antonio with a much larger cemetery in the distance, sums up the history of this place. On to highway miles and singletrack. Quail Trail was the fun singletrack. But make sure you do not bump up against anything. It all wants to poke, stick, jab, impale, cut, lacerate,… you get it. After circling the area several times to find our place to stay, I found the direction sign on the ground. Once we finally got in to the bungalow and showered, we went to the restaurant below. They were doing a valentines special menu. We’ve always had terrible luck when it comes to stuff like this. But the 8! Course meal was amazing. Albeit lasted over three hours. And the scene was pretty sweet too. Next time, just give me a fucking meal.
